Bio
Ashley Agan, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at UT Southwestern. She is a general otolaryngologist with special interests in salivary gland and thyroid surgery.
Dr. Agan grew up in a small town in North Texas called Blue Ridge. She attended the University of Texas at Austin and graduated with honors with a degree in Biomedical Engineering.
Dr. Agan attended medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. During her time there she was an active member of the Texas Medical Association and served as Section Chair during her last year of medical school. She spent time lobbying for graduate medical education at the state capitol in Austin, as well as in Washington, D.C. She was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society in 2010. Her compassion and empathy in patient care also led to her induction into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. She was accepted into the Otolaryngology Residency program at UT Southwestern at Dallas in 2011 and completed her residency in 2016.
She chose to join the UT Southwestern faculty after residency because of her love for the department and the patient population she is able to serve. She performs surgeries of the head and neck including endoscopic sinus surgery, thyroidectomy, salivary gland surgery, and more.
Dr. Agan is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery.
