He then completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, N.C., before participating in the esteemed Mary S. Dr. Larson has specialized training in endoscopy for carpal tunnel syndrome, wrist arthroscopy, joint arthroplasty of the thumb and joint replacement surgery, and the administration of Xiaflex® for treatment of Dupuytren's contracture in the hand and fingers.
Larson’s special interests include advanced and minimally-invasive surgical techniques for repair of the hand and wrist, treatment of rheumatoid and osteoarthritis, and pediatric orthopedics. He is published in numerous peer-reviewed journals and publications, including Techniques in Hand & Upper Extremity Surgery and Surgical Endoscopy, and has presented at orthopedic conferences and symposiums across the United States.
Dr. Larson treats overuse, athletic, degenerative, and traumatic conditions from the shoulder to the fingertip. He also routinely takes general orthopedic surgery call and manages traumatic injuries to both the upper and lower extremities, including hip, femur, and ankle injuries in addition to upper extremity conditions.
Larson is a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH), as well as a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
When not hard at work, Larson enjoys spending time with his wife and three children. He is an avid long-distance runner and Ironman triathlete, and likes skiing in the Rocky Mountains where he grew up or scuba diving in blue ocean waters.
