Emergency Medicine Sub-specialty Education Coordinator
Dr. Dave Spear is a founding professor for the TCU and UNTHSC School of Medicine and clinical assistant professor at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. He is director of the emergency medicine program in trauma and procedures at Texas Health Fort Worth, and also serves as faculty for Parkland Hospital and Children’s Medical Center Dallas. He is the emergency medicine sub-specialty education coordinator for the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth.
Dr. Spear received his bachelor’s degree in mathematics and physics at Albion College in Albion, Michigan. He then earned his medical degree at Wayne State School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Spear completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center in Denver, Colorado, before completing his residency in emergency medicine at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.
Dr. Spear is passionate about innovating and improving processes around clinical ultrasound and fluoroscopy. He has authored numerous book chapters and papers about clinical ultrasound and speaks nationally on this topic. He has won multiple awards for his work in teaching residents and fellows.
