Dr. Curtis Peery is a nationally recognized pioneer in robotic and minimally invasive surgery, known for his leadership and innovation in advanced surgical care. He performed the first robotic surgery in South Dakota in 2004 and has since completed thousands of robotic procedures. With decades of experience in bariatric and general surgery, Dr. Peery practices a “total practice” robotic approach, integrating cutting‑edge technology to deliver safer operations, faster recovery, and improved outcomes. While widely known for weight loss surgery, he also specializes in foregut conditions such as GERD, complex hernia repair, abdominal wall reconstruction, and revisional bariatric surgery.

Dr. Peery earned his medical degree from the University of South Dakota and completed his surgical training in Des Moines, Iowa, where he also served in academic leadership roles.
