Bio
Dr. Drew Farmer is board-certified in general surgery and surgical critical care and fellowship-trained in trauma and critical care. He is skilled in the use of advanced and minimally invasive surgical techniques, including endoscopy and laparoscopy, to care for patients with acute, life-threatening and potentially life-threatening surgical conditions. His areas of special focus include vascular trauma, surgical rib stabilization, intra-abdominal infections, and penetrating trauma to the neck, chest and abdomen. His work in intra-abdominal care has been published in the peer-reviewed medical journal Surgical Infections.
Dr. Farmer earned his medical degree in 2014 while at the Texas Tech Health Sciences Center in Lubbock. He completed his general surgery residency at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. He was named Chief Resident in the final year of his residency. Dr. Farmer completed his trauma and critical care fellowship at Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He previously served as a general surgeon at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, also in Philadelphia, within the Division of Trauma, Surgical Critical Care & Emergency Surgery.
Dr. Farmer is a member of the American Association for the Surgery of Trauma, American College of Surgeons, Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma and Society of Critical Care Medicine.
