Praveen Srungaram, M.D., is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in general gastroenterology and liver conditions.
Dr. Srungaram earned his medical degree at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. He completed a residency in internal medicine and received advanced training through a gastroenterology and hepatology fellowship at UT Southwestern.
Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in gastroenterology, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2024.
Dr. Srungaram's clinical work focuses on general gastrointestinal care, with a special interest in screening and surveillance colonoscopies with polypectomies; esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) for gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD); and Barrett's esophagus screening.
He is a member of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the American Gastroenterological Association, and the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases.
