Bio
Micah A. Jacobs, M.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Urology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in minimally invasive surgery and spina bifida.
Dr. Jacobs earned his medical degree at Yale School of Medicine. He completed a residency in urology at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington, Massachusetts, and received advanced training in pediatric urology through a fellowship at Seattle Children's Hospital. In addition, he holds a Master of Public Health from the University of Washington.
Certified by the American Board of Urology in pediatric urology, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2011.
Dr. Jacobs is the Program Director of the UTSW Pediatric Urology Fellowship Program, a faculty senator at UTSW, and on the Joint Ambulatory Governance Council for UTSW and Children's Health. Outside of UTSW, he’s a member of the American Urological Association, the Society for Pediatric Urology, and the Society for Fetal Urology, among other professional organizations.
Dr. Jacobs has delivered a number of national and international invited lectures and written multiple research papers focused on the long-term outcomes of children who have undergone surgical reconstruction after neurogenic bladder dysfunction, as well as clinical outcomes of various surgical techniques in pediatric urology.
He has been named a D Magazine Best Doctor and a Texas Monthly Super Doctor and Texas Rising Star.
Dr. Jacobs lives in Dallas with his wife, two children, and two dogs.
