Bio
Alison Cabrera, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center.
Dr. Cabrera earned her medical degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where she also performed her residency in orthopaedic surgery. She then received advanced training in orthopaedic shoulder and sports medicine through a fellowship at Vanderbilt University.
Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2019.
Dr. Cabrera was appointed to and served on the Council of Delegates for the American Orthopaedic Society of Sports Medicine from 2016 to 2018. She’s a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, and the American Orthopaedic Society of Sports Medicine. She has received awards for her research, including the Harley and Betty Baxter Resident Award and the Roy Davis Award.
She has delivered several presentations, written book chapters, and published multiple academic articles in Orthopaedics.

In her leisure time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their two sons.
