Bio
Allen Morey, M.D., is a Professor in the Department of Urology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He currently holds the Distinguished Chair in Urologic Reconstruction in honor of Allen F. Morey, M.D., and the Paul C. Peters, M.D. Chair in Urology. He established and directs the successful UTSW fellowship program in Urologic Trauma, Reconstruction, and Prosthetics.
Dr. Morey has extensive clinical experience in reconstructive urology with an emphasis in urethral stricture disease, Peyronie’s disease, male incontinence, urologic trauma, erectile dysfunction, and prosthetic urology.
Dr. Morey received his undergraduate degree from Lafayette College in Easton, Pa., in 1983. He earned his medical degree in 1987 at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Md., where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.
After his internship and urology residency at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, he completed a fellowship in urologic trauma and reconstruction at the University of California, San Francisco, in 1997.
He joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2007.
He has published more than 200 peer-reviewed articles and numerous book chapters on his specialties, and he is actively involved in research to improve outcomes and enhance safety for reconstructive urology procedures.
Dr. Morey is also active nationally in urologic education, serving as the 2013 President of the South Central Section of the American Urological Association (AUA) and the 2014 President of the Society of Genitourinary Reconstructive Surgeons (GURS). He is Chair of the AUA Urotrauma Guidelines Committee, and won the 2016 AUA Distinguished Contribution Award.
He was named a Super Doctor by Texas Monthly in 2018.
