Bio

Dr. Stella Hecker’s medical career as a fellowship-trained endocrinologist spans more than two decades. She began her work in the field in 2003, serving patients through the East Texas Medical Center Health Care System in Tyler, Texas. Dr. Hecker brought her diabetes and endocrine expertise to the DFW area in 2006, serving in private practice and for several years as a subspecialty director for the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Texas Health Fort Worth. Her areas of focus include insulin management, thyroid and parathyroid disease care, and the treatment of endocrine tumors.

Dr. Hecker earned her medical degree from De La Salle University Medical and Health Sciences Institute in the Philippines. She completed her internal medicine residency at Saint Barnabas Medical Center/UMDNJ College of Medicine in Livingston, N.J., and her endocrinology fellowship at New York University School of Medicine/New York University Medical Center/Bellevue Medical Center. Dr. Hecker is a Fellow of the American College of Endocrinology and a member of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists and the Endocrine Society.
