Bio
Dr. M. Shahbaz Hasan was born in Khairpur, Pakistan. He attended college at DJ Science College in Karachi, Pakistan before earning his medical degree in 1989, at Dow Medical College, also located in Karachi, Pakistan. Dr. Hasan completed his internship and residency at UT Southwestern Medical School in Dallas in 1994. His fellowship training in infectious diseases was completed in 1996 at UT Southwestern Medical School and Dallas VA Medical Center. Dr. Hasan is board-certified in infectious diseases, hospice and palliative care.
After completion of his training, Dr. Hasan served as an associate professor of Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical School as well as a staff physician at the Dallas VA Medical Center, from 1996 through 2005. He was also a staff physician at Baylor Grapevine Hospital. In 2007 he joined InfectiousCare and has become an integral part of the Residency Training Program of Texas Health Dallas. He is a recipient of the Robert L. North Award for teaching. Dr. Hasan is the clerkship director for Junior Medical Students of UT Southwestern Medical School based at Texas Health Dallas. Dr. Hasan has been published in numerous journals and medical literature.
Dr. Hasan has been named as D Magazine’s Best Doctors in infectious diseases.
