Orthopedic surgeon, Stuart Michnick, M.D., is a Texas native who graduated Summa Cum Laude from The University of Texas at Dallas before earning his medical degree with honors from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. Dr. Michnick completed his orthopedic residency at the University of Washington in Seattle. During his residency, he received the Resident Scholar Award from the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society. He is fellowship-trained in foot and ankle surgery from MedStar Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. In addition, he has published in peer-reviewed orthopedic journals and presented at multiple national orthopedic meetings. His areas of special interest and focus include treatment of bunions and hammertoes, reconstruction of the foot and ankle, management of foot and ankle sports injuries, total ankle arthroplasty, treatment of arthritic disorders and orthopedic trauma. He sees all orthopedic issues and routinely takes general orthopedic surgery calls and manages traumatic injuries to both the upper and lower extremities, including hip, femur, and ankle injuries in addition to upper extremity conditions.
After being away from the area for six years, Dr. Michnick found his way back to North Texas in 2019. Previously, he worked in the Department of Orthopedics and Sports Medicine at the University of Washington, where he served as the Department’s Curriculum Committee chairperson for several years. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society.
When not caring for his patients, you may find Dr. Michnick hiking, camping or kayaking with his family. He also enjoys watching baseball and playing tennis.
