Samuel Mbugua, APRN, FNP-C Nurse Practitioner-Familyin Denton, TX

Certified family Nurse Practitioner Sam Mbugua began his nursing career as a Registered Nurse in 2006, working in a busy Emergency Department. He later in 2011 became a Nurse Practitioner focused on the areas of urgent care, primary care and chronic disease management. Sam's extensive experience includes the collaborative management of complex conditions, including diabetes, hypertension, congestive heart failure, COPD and asthma. He places a priority on improving glycemic control for patients with diabetes and achieving blood pressure targets for patients with heart disease through medication optimization and sound patient education.

Sam graduated from the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock with his bachelor's degree in nursing and earned his master's degree in nursing from The University of Texas at Arlington.
