Bio
Dr. Leal is a board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon specializing in adult cardiovascular surgery and general thoracic surgery. His professional interests include treatment of complex thoracic aortic disease, coronary revascularization, minimally invasive aortic valve replacement, arrhythmia surgery and cardiovascular circulatory mechanical support (LVAD and ECMO). After finishing his internship and residency in general surgery, Dr. Leal went on to complete additional fellowship training in cardiothoracic surgery, heart transplantation and mechanical support.
In addition to his work as a skilled clinician, Dr. Leal has experience as an educator and researcher. He currently serves as an assistant professor in the TCU Burnett School of Medicine in Fort Worth. He enjoys celebrating health successes with his patients and strives to return them to the activities they love. Dr. Leal speaks fluent Spanish.
