Carlos Leonel Macias, MD Cardiothoracic Surgeryin Fort Worth, TX

Dr. Carlos Macias is a fellowship-trained thoracic surgeon with special focus in the areas of cardiothoracic and vascular interventions, including heart valve implantation, mechanical circulatory support and cardioversion (low-energy shock). He uses transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) and other advanced and minimally invasive techniques. Dr. Macias has been dedicated to the heart and lung health of the Fort Worth community since 1998. He also has been involved in heart valve disease research since 2023.

Dr. Macias earned his medical degree from The University of Texas Medical Center in Houston. He completed his general surgery residency at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas before going on to complete his thoracic surgery fellowship at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, Mo. Dr. Macias is a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery and a member of the American Medical Association, Fort Worth Surgical Society, Society of Thoracic Surgeons, Tarrant County Medical Society and Texas Medical Association.
