Bio
Dr. James Choi has been caring for Texas hearts since 2004. He is fellowship-trained in interventional cardiology. He is board-certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease, Nuclear Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology. Dr. Choi’s areas of clinical interest and focus include cardiovascular disease in diabetic patients, complex coronary interventions: left main and chronic total occlusions, valvular heart interventions, structural heart interventions: ASD/PFO/Left atrial appendage closure, and peripheral vascular disease. He has published numerous articles and conducted clinical research on coronary stent implantation and chronic total occlusions as well as novel treatments for resistant hypertension with Renal Denervation.
Dr. Choi earned his medical degree from Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago, where he also completed his residency in internal medicine and fellowships in cardiology and interventional cardiology. He previously served as an associate professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at the Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine in College Station, the Director of the Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at Baylor University Medical center, and as medical director of Coronary, Renal and Structural Heart Technologies for the Baylor Research Institute in Dallas.
Dr. Choi is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and Society for Cardiovascular Angiography & Interventions. He currently chairs the DFW AngioClub and is a member of the American Heart Association, Texas Medical Association and Dallas County Medical Association. Dr. Choi has sat on numerous advisory boards and is active in the Korean-American medical community.
