Bio
Shruti Boorla, D.O., is fellowship-trained and board-certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and nuclear cardiology. She grew up in the Dallas-Fort Worth community and received all of her medical training in-state.
Boorla graduated with honors from Baylor University in Waco with a bachelor’s degree in biology before going on to earn her medical degree from the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth. She excelled during her medical training, as she was chosen as chief resident and chief fellow in cardiology through the internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship programs at Plaza Medical Center in Fort Worth.
Boorla’s areas of specialization include diagnostic catheterization, cardiac imaging and women’s cardiovascular health. She is a member of the American College of Cardiology. She has been in practice since 2010.

For me, this was an annual checkup with no problems, but my husband had developed significant edema in his feet and lower legs. Dr. B. asked me if it was OK for her to address [...] problem even though it was my appointment time. We were both pleased that she recognized the potential situation and wanted to address it right away. She prescribed a Change in his med's dosage, and asked him to notify her after 4 days if there was no improvement.
