Usman I Salahuddin, MD Cardiovascular Disease, Internal Medicinein Denton, TX

Dr. Usman Salahuddin has served as a fellowship-trained interventional cardiologist and cardiovascular specialist since 2020. He has additional advanced training in echocardiography and nuclear cardiography. His experience spans hospital administration, quality improvement, and clinical care with focus in the areas of complex coronary and peripheral arterial interventions, cardiac imaging, and the treatment of heart disease in patients with diabetes.

Dr. Salahuddin earned his medical degree while studying in Pakistan. He completed his internal medicine residency and interventional cardiology fellowship at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center/Parkland Hospital in Dallas. He completed his cardiovascular fellowship at Washington Hospital Center/Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C.

Dr. Salahuddin previously served for three years as Vice President of Medical Affairs within the Ochsner Health System in Meridian, Miss. During his career, he has led several high impact care initiatives, including the development of a Pulmonary Embolism Response Team for Ochsner Rush Hospital focused on early thrombectomy for high risk patients. He also has spearheaded programs that improved hospital based outcomes, including sepsis , hospital acquired infections, and optimized heart failure and stroke care.
