Bio
Carter A. King, M.D. specializes in general and interventional cardiology including peripheral vascular disease and structural heart disease. Dr. King received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and neuroscience from the University of Texas at Dallas. He attended medical school at the University of Texas Medical School at San Antonio. Dr. King completed his internship and residency in internal medicine and served as Chief Resident of Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He remained at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio to complete fellowships in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology.
Dr. King has special interests in complex coronary artery disease including laser and rotational atherectomy, peripheral arterial disease (PAD), the care of acute heart attacks, cardiogenic shock, aortic stenosis including TAVR/TAVI and mitral valve disease including MitraClip.
Dr. King is board certified in internal medicine, general cardiology, interventional cardiology and nuclear cardiology. He is a member of the American College of Cardiology, American Heart Association, and American Society of Nuclear Cardiology. He participates in multiple hospital programs and committees at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas.
Dr. King and his wife met and married while in medical school and have two children. He enjoys travel, snow skiing, scuba and swimming.
