Bio
Dr. Saira Jamal is a board-certified family physician with advanced training in geriatric medicine. She began her medical career in 1996 working within an internal medicine clinic in Michigan City, Ind. She set down roots in North Texas in 2009. Prior to establishing herself in the DFW area, Dr. Jamal served as an assistant professor in Geriatric Medicine within the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans, La. Her areas of special clinical focus include hypertension, diabetes mellitus, asthma, obesity and medical weight loss, gynecological menopausal issues, geriatric disorders like polypharmacy, falls, depression, dementia/Alzheimer's disease, failure to thrive, and osteoporosis care for the aging population.
Dr. Jamal earned her medical degree and completed an internal medicine residency program in Pakistan. She completed her family medicine residency at Methodist Hospital in Gary, Ind., and her geriatric medicine fellowship at LSU School of Medicine. Dr. Jamal is a member of the American Academy of Family Practice and American Geriatrics Society.
