Dr. Smith is board-certified by the American Board of Osteopathic Surgery (Neurosurgery) and a Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons. He brings more than 20 years of practical experience to North Texas Neurological & Spine Center. Smith earned his medical degree from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Mo. He completed his internship and residency training in neurological surgery at Doctors Hospitals in Columbus, Ohio. His areas of special interest include sacroiliac disease, lumbar disc and degenerative diseases, peripheral nerve tumors, cervical spine disc and degenerative diseases, cranial issues, and complex and minimally invasive spine surgery. Smith is a member of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons, American Osteopathic Association, American Association of Neurological Surgeons, Congress of Neurological Surgeons and North American Spine Society.
