Bio

Dr. Katherine Kester is a board-certified family physician fellowship-trained in primary care sports medicine. Her areas of special interest and focus include comprehensive concussion care, nonsurgical treatment of osteoarthritis, and acute muscular injuries.

As a primary care sports medicine physician, Dr. Katherine Kester believes that better health leads to better performance - in sports and in life. She currently serves on the medical staff for FC Dallas and Collin College, as well as several local high schools. She has previously provided medical coverage for the CONCACAF Gold Cup and She Believes Cups, other international soccer matches, and multiple NCAA Championship events (FCS Football, Basketball, and Gymnastics). She has previously served on the medical staffs for TCU, FWISD, Arlington ISD, National Collegiate Wrestling Championships, and Golden Gloves Boxing.

Dr. Kester is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, Texas Medical Association, and the Texas Academy of Family Physicians.

The whole process from beginning to end was excellent. The communication with staff, nurse and doctor was exceptional. I felt my concerns were listened to and heard. I appreciate the mutual understanding and support with recommended treatment.

Dr. Kester, her team and the office staff are so helpful and great!! Appointments were on time, but if there was going to be any hint of a delay someone came in, advised me of the status and even offer/brought me a bottle of water!! Dr. Kester was very clear in explaining my situation and concerns which was definitely a plus as sometimes the terms Dr.'s use can be confusing and misunderstood. Not the case here!! DEFINITELY RECOMMEND Dr. Hester and this practice!!

Very good experience. Dr K listened to me with my explanation of the situation and then was very clear with the assessment she was doing and then with the next stepsapplying a more direct and timely approach vs delaying through steps that would not likely fix my issue. I appreciate that greatly vs just buying time that would likely not give any relief but only be more costly to me.

Dr. Kester and her associates were amazing. They check all the boxes. They are friendly; this is important. (Unfriendly doctors make the visit uncomfortable and less likely I will ask questions, which was not the case with this visit). They listen. They explain. They care. It is obvious they are more concerned about my health than about excessive treatment for for the wrong reasons. I have complete trust in this team for my medical care.

Dr. Kester and her assistant/nurse were GREAT! Listened and put me at ease concerning my MCL. Determined it was more of a sprain rather than a tear so PT was the plan, didn't rush to make me get an MRI or surgery. Also very friendly yet professional!!
