Bio
Dr. Zihao Wu is a board-certified colon and rectal surgeon with additional board certification in general surgery. Dr. Wu previously served for more than a decade as an associate professor in Clinical Surgery within the Department of Surgery at the University of Missouri School of Medicine in Columbia. He specializes in treating anorectal disorders (hemorrhoids, anal fistula, anal fissure, anal warts etc), colon and rectal cancer, complicated diverticular disease, Crohn’s disease, Ulcerative colitis, and rectal prolapse. He also offers screening and diagnostic colonoscopy. He performs advanced robotic and laparoscopic colon and rectal surgeries.
Dr. Wu grew up in a small village in Southern China where his father was the only physician. His passion for caring for others came from watching his father at work. He earned his medical degree at Sun Yat-Sen University of Medical Sciences in China. He completed his general surgery residency at St. Agnes Healthcare in Baltimore, Md., before going on to complete his colon and rectal surgery fellowship at Saint Vincent Health Center in Erie, Pa. Dr. Wu is a member of the American College of Surgeons and American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons. He is fluent in the Chinese Cantonese language.
