Bio
Katherine Hager’s first nursing role came in 2016, when she cared for pediatric digestive tract and liver transplant patients. The patients captured her heart with their courage in the face of overwhelming life changes. This has motivated her to view her role as a health care provider as that of collectively addressing the physical, mental and social elements of the individual for comprehensive health and wellbeing. Her areas of special focus include emergency trauma and gastroenterology nursing care, pre- and post-surgical care, and donor and transplant education and support.
Katherine is certified as a family nurse practitioner. She earned her undergraduate nursing degree Cum Laude from Abilene Christian University School of Nursing in Abilene, Texas. She earned her master’s degree in nursing with emphasis in family nurse practitioner studies at Texas Woman’s University in Dallas. Katherine is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
When not with her patients, Katherine is actively involved in the community. She has participated in several medical mission trips to Guatemala and Nicaragua, where she served alongside doctors and other health care providers.
