Bio
Dr. Chien-Lin (Jimmy) Chen has been performing advanced and minimally invasive surgical procedures since 2017 with a focus on the treatment of gastrointestinal tumors and disorders as well as liver disease. He is fellowship-trained in advanced endoscopy and gastroenterology/hepatology.
In his previous work within Kaiser Permanente’s Seattle, Wash. location, Dr. Chen was instrumental in expanding the interventional GI team and prioritized optimizing the delivery of specialized services to enhance outcomes for patients with GI cancers and digestive tract disorders. He uses gastrointestinal endoscopy (EMR) to treat GI tumors, radiofrequency ablation, and other advanced minimally invasive surgical techniques to promote recovery from Barrett’s esophagus, liver/pancreas/gallbladder/bile duct disorders, and bowel obstructions.
Dr. Chen earned his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Pa. He completed his internal medicine residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, also in Philadelphia. Dr. Chen received his fellowship training in gastroenterology and hepatology and advanced endoscopy while at the University of California in Irvine. He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterological Association and American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
