Bio
Dr. James McClintic is board-certified in general surgery and has advanced training in minimally invasive gastrointestinal/bariatric surgery. His areas of special interest include the treatment of obesity, bariatric complications, GERD, achalasia and hiatal hernias. Dr. McClintic is skilled in the use of minimally invasive surgery, including laparoscopy, endoscopic and robotic-assisted approaches, for the treatment of foregut (GERD, Achalasia, Hiatal hernia) disorders, obesity, complex hernia repair,hepato-pancreato-biliary (liver/pancreas/gallbladder/bile duct) disorders and GI disorders.
Dr. McClintic earned his medical degree from The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. He completed his general surgery residency at The University of Oklahoma in Tulsa. He studied under highly regarded bariatric and GI surgeon Patrick Reardon while completing his minimally invasive/bariatric surgery fellowship at Houston Methodist Hospital in Texas. Dr. McClintic is a member of the American College of Surgeons and Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons.
