Made me feel like I can trust the doctor completely.Aug 2025Arrived for appt at ~1:30 for 2pm appointment but wasn't taken back until ~2:45 - 3:00pm. Recommend improving communication between Doctor, nursing staff, reception staff, and patients of delays. Other than that, no other negative issues to discuss. After being seen by Dr Shires, I understand the reason for the delay from time of appt to actually seeing him. He was very detailed when he went over my condition drawing a quick diagram of the portion of the body to provide a better understanding of the images from the different scans which he also showed. He explained the options available for treatment and offered us time to decide on how we wanted to proceed, which we had already decided prior to the appt. He then discussed the surgical procedure and potential for a more invasive surgery depending on the situation found during surgery as well as postop, recovery, and release for both scenarios. [...] He explained the problem set, and he walked through the issue using a large array of imagery (x-ray, ct, small bowel series) to define the problem and path forward. [...] Dr Shires has exhausted all non-surgical modalities. We discussed the surgery, hospital stay, recovery, and long term benefits at top level [...] and then decomposed each major event, deep dived modality, risk, and modalities and procedures to minimize these risk.
