Paul Edward Gray Jr, MD General Surgeryin Fort Worth, TX

Paul Gray, M.D., FACS, is a board-certified general surgeon who specializes in abdominal wall reconstruction and hernia surgery with an emphasis on robotic minimally invasive surgery. Dr. Gray is passionate about excellence in patient care and surgical training, and derives great joy and satisfaction in working with residents as they take the next steps in their careers. He serves as the interim program director of the General Surgery Residency Program at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth after having served as an associate program director in the program since 2022.

Dr. Gray received his bachelor of science degree from Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, Tennessee. He attended medical school at University of Louisville School of Medicine in Kentucky and completed his residency in general surgery in 2007 at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.

Dr. Gray’s surgical career includes trauma and urgent care surgery in Dallas, Texas, and since 2015, he has practiced broad-spectrum general surgery in Fort Worth, Texas. He also served six years as a missionary surgeon at Soddo Christian Hospital in Ethiopia, where he was the program director of a general surgery residency with the Pan-African Academy of Christian Surgeons.

Dr. Gray is a member of several medical groups and organizations including fellowship in the American College of Surgeons, the Texas Medical Association, the Tarrant County Medical Society, the American Hernia Society and the Abdominal Core Health Quality Collaborative. His research has been published in the Journal of Physician Leadership and the International Journal of Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology.

Dr. Gray is married with three children. When he isn’t spending time with them or serving his patients or residents, he enjoys running and reading.
