Bio
Dr. Richard S Anderson grew up in Dallas and graduated from Texas A&M University. After attending medical school at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston, he completed his general surgery residency at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. Following his fellowship in vascular surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, he began his general and vascular surgery practice at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas in 1988 where he currently serves as Chief of Surgery. He has been routinely voted one the "Best Doctors in Dallas" by DMagazine since 2001.
Dr. Anderson specializes in laparoscopic and abdominal surgery , including gallbladder, complex hernia, gastrointestinal, thyroid and parathyroid, and vascular surgery. Dr Anderson co-founded the Dallas Veintec Varicose Vein Clinic in 2000 (veintec.com), specializing in ambulatory, office-based, minimally invasive varicose and spider vein treatments and having performed the first saphenous vein ablation procedure in North Texas.
Dr. Anderson is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is a diplomat of the American College of Phlebology and a member of the American Hernia Society, along with the Dallas Medical Society and the Texas Medical Association.
Dr. Anderson has been married for 35 years and has 3 children and 2 beautiful granddaughters. He actively participates in his Church including medical mission trips to the Honduras.
