His clinical expertise spans both medical and minimally invasive endovascular management of ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, cerebral aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations (AVMs), dural arteriovenous fistulas, carotid and intracranial vascular disease, and other disorders affecting the blood vessels of the brain and spine.
Dr. Rupareliya completed his neurology residency at the University of Kentucky, followed by fellowship training in vascular neurology at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. He subsequently completed advanced fellowship training in neuroendovascular surgery at Ochsner Health. He is board-certified in both neurology and vascular neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. In addition to his medical training, Dr. Rupareliya holds a Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA), reflecting his longstanding interest in healthcare leadership, quality improvement, and the development of effective systems of care.
Prior to joining Texas Health Neurosurgery & Spine Specialists, Dr. Rupareliya served as Vascular Neurologist and NeuroEndovascular Surgeon at Center-Ochsner Health in New Orleans where he helped lead the hospital's stroke program and multidisciplinary efforts to provide timely, evidence-based care for patients with acute cerebrovascular emergencies. His professional interests include acute ischemic stroke, mechanical thrombectomy, intracranial and extracranial cerebrovascular disease, cerebral aneurysms, and the advancement of regional systems of stroke care.
Dr. Rupareliya is actively involved in academic medicine, research, and physician education. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in stroke, cerebrovascular disease, and neurointervention and regularly contributes to national scientific meetings as an invited speaker and moderator. At the center of Dr. Rupareliya's practice is a patient-focused approach that combines advanced neurointerventional technology with thoughtful, individualized care. He believes that the best outcomes in neurological emergencies come not only from technical expertise, but also from clear communication, multidisciplinary collaboration, and treating patients and their families with compassion during some of the most critical moments of their lives.
Dr. Rupareliya speaks English, Gujarati, Hindi, and Russian. Outside of medicine, he enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, and staying active through regular workouts.
