Elisha (Ellie) Arends' first job was as a scribe in a busy emergency department, where she got to see the magnitude of what nurses and providers do. The experience ignited her love for nursing and the medical field. She began her career as a registered nurse in 2019 and became certified as a family nurse practitioner in 2023.
Ellie earned her bachelor's and master's degrees in nursing from The University of Texas at Arlington. In addition, she holds a bachelor's degree in health promotion from the University of North Texas in Denton. She places a priority on collaboratively developing sound treatment plans with physicians that not only increase the patient-provider bond but also help to optimize health outcomes. Ellie is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
