Bio
Melanie Watkins served in the United States Navy Nurse Corps from 2007 to 2014 providing OB/GYN and Labor & Delivery care to military families. During her service, she was honored with National Defense, Global War on Terrorism, and Navy & Marine Corps Achievement medals. After serving in leadership and direct patient care roles as a registered nurse for a total of seventeen years, Melanie became certified as a family nurse practitioner in 2023. Her areas of special focus as a nurse practitioner include internal medicine, pediatrics and women’s health.
Melanie earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. She holds a master’s degree in nursing from Texas Woman’s University in Denton. Melanie is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
