Bio
Dr. Mohammad Frotan is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and he is board-certified in general surgery and critical care surgery. He holds two bachelor’s degrees in biology and business administration from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, where he graduated with honors. He received his medical degree from Texas Tech University School of Medicine in Lubbock.
Dr. Frotan completed his general surgery internship and residency and his burn surgery fellowship at the University of South Alabama in Mobile. While in Alabama, he served as the assistant professor of Surgery and medical director over the Burn Intensive Care Unit at the University of South Alabama College of Medicine. He returned to the Dallas area to complete additional fellowship training in trauma surgical critical care through The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center-Parkland Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Frotan’s extensive clinical and research training includes general surgery, trauma, burns and surgical critical care. He has lectured and presented on topics ranging from the fundamentals of laparoscopic surgery and thoracic trauma to vascular exposure trauma and abdominal wall reconstruction. He is a member of the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma, Society of Critical Care Medicine and American Burn Association.
